HAFA BATHTOOM - 60 YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL PRIDE

The Hafa story begins with furniture maker and Halmstad boy Lars Andersson. His passion for form and function grew, and soon the little carpentry workshop was too small. By 1962, production had moved to Halmstad and Falkenberg – and that’s how the company came to be named Hafa.

A few years later, bathroom furniture accounted for the majority of production and in 1962, Hafa launched the market’s first bathroom cabinet made entirely in teak. The cabinet was a huge success and with its customisable, functional and well-designed bathroom furniture, the company quickly became a market leader.

Over the years, together with our designers, we’ve explored many different materials and styles. Trends have come and gone, and innovations have become yesterday’s news. But like Lars Andersson’s passion for craftsmanship, form and function have always been closest to our heart.

A LONG STORY IN BRIEF

1962 Lars Andersson of Halmstad starts a manufacturing business, making teak hat racks and other items. Production is based in the towns of Halmstad and Falkenberg – hence the name Hafa Badrum.

1966 Hafa Badrum produces the market’s first bathroom cabinets. The launch is a success and makes HAFA a leading manufacturer in the bathroom furniture market.

1970 We manufacture our first teak bathroom range. Hafa Classic is a success and remains a feature of Swedish homes well into the 1980s.

1995 The Uppsala company Gent Dusch is acquired, followed five years later by the Danish shower and bath supplier Hassel & Teut. Hafa becomes a complete supplier of showers and baths.

2003 New groundbreaking furniture, hand-crafted from the finest wood, is a huge success. Extensive ranges of beautiful bathroom furniture with silver details, which were popular at the time, are produced. At the same time, we expand our sales operation not just in Norway and Denmark, but also in Finland.

2012 Hafa celebrates 50 years and develops the Original range of real wood furniture for bathrooms in partnership with Elin Basander André. The range is considered an upgrade of Hafa Classic, which was a range of beautiful bathroom furniture produced during the 1970s. The louvre-style doors are given a new and modern look, making this classic deserving of its name. Hafa’s Relax U toilet is launched on the market.

2016 Hafa Edge is launched and wins “Bathroom of the Year 2016”, organised by the publication Allt om Kök- och badguiden. “New Hafa Edge pushes the boundaries of design and quality finishes in bathroom furniture. We have achieved this by combining modern design with the very latest technology and exciting material choices. Hafa Edge signals the start of a new era,” says Eva Östergren, Range Manager and Chief Marketing Officer at Hafa Badrum.

2018 Hafa once more pushes the boundaries of design and quality finishes with the launch of a new shower range called IglooPro™, designed by Linda Uppman. Choose a shower solution to meet your needs. Everything from a traditional corner shower in several sizes through a combination of a straight, fixed or curved screen to a U-shower that can be installed several ways. Here groundbreaking technology is combined with unique design. IglooPro™ is very quick to install thanks to our unique patent-pending InstaQuick™ function.
